Way to go Tommy Chase! $1331 raised but this great young man! Kuddos to you! Some Stats: 132 finished 73 ultra marathoners going on lap 2, 3,4, &5! All I can say is wow! 11 of you are less than $25 away for the great t-shirt $985 away from our goal! A little more than 24 hours left to bring us to an incredible finish! Thank you all for getting out there and being active and fundraising for JA! Without people like you, we would not have an organization helping develop our Maine students!
    • JBERG June 26, 2020
We are approaching $15K let's see if we can get there!!!! So many of you are so close to that coveted t-shirt, you only need $80 in total to have a student volunteer deliver it to your workplace or home! We are all in this together! Let's keep moving and raising funds for this great organization!
    • jj15 June 25, 2020
Did you know? If we reach our fundraising goal of $15,000, 500 more Maine students will receive an in depth, hands-on, volunteer-driven JA experience?! If each runner raises just $8 more, we will reach our goal - thank you for your help spreading the word!
    • jj15 June 24, 2020
Keep up the great work, athletes! Remember the race runs through 11:59pm this coming Monday, June 29th. All prize winners will be announced the following day. Good Luck!

Keep adding up those miles - there are L.L.Bean gift cards for the top three total mile athletes at the end of the two weeks. And to everyone still racing - we can do it! One whole week left to reach the finish line. What a beautiful week to get out and get moving!
    • JBERG June 20, 2020

    • CRoy June 17, 2020
Congrats on the finishers so far! This has pushed me really hard to rack up miles quicker than I have ever done. One of my goals by joining JAMovesME was to inform people and raise support of one of the great programs our school participates in. What is your goal for joining this race?!
My goal is to some physical activity for all 14 days! You are all giving me motivation!
    • JBERG June 17, 2020
So many of you are close to earning a t-shirt! $80 gets you a t-shirt that will be very coveted! Spread the word to your friend and family to helps support this great organization and you may get a t-shirt. Let's see if we can crush $12K today! Thank you to everyone for joining in the fun!
    • PCB June 17, 2020
Favorite JA memory - having 4th graders trick me into eating a kumquat while laughing hysterically at my puckered face! Seriously though, when student's faces light up and their smiles widen because they realize today is the day for JA, you realize the time and effort you dedicate to JA is worthwhile!
    • Julashklgrmg June 16, 2020
When biking, can you put in miles instead minutes? I rode 16 miles but when I put in the minutes only says 7 miles?
      1
Great question! Answer from Racery: Racery aims to "normalize" among sports so swimmers (or boxers, etc) don't get left in the dust, even though they put in similar effort without traveling as many miles.
    • jj15 June 16, 2020
We have a finisher! Congrats to @Dickey on completing the virtual marathon on day two! Everyone keep up the good work, lots more prizes available over the next two weeks.
      WOW! Congrats!
      Congrats, @Dickey!
thanks - lets keep this going! Go B3! @MKA123
      Awesome! Way to go!!

Favorite JA Moment(s): Teaching in a kindergarten class in Westbrook last year, when I asked the class on my last day what I was giving them that they could not see (I was looking for the answer time), a little boy said, "Ms. Michelle you are giving us your love!" I also love to see students years later and they can still remember what their favorite lesson and activity was going through JA.
    • calmbusted June 16, 2020
Favorite JA moment - running into 1st graders, out and about, after meeting them thru JA. They're always so giggly and happy to see someone they know.
Love this! It's crazy how 1st graders can make you feel like a Rock Star! :)
    • Beezy June 15, 2020
Favorite JA moment - the feeling of being able to inspire young minds over conversations about taxes and donuts!
    • jj15 June 15, 2020
My favorite JA memory: Volunteering in a kindergarten class, one little boy kept raising his hand to answer questions during the lesson. The teacher came up after the class and told me he rarely raises his hand, but he was so excited for the "JA lady" to come back!
    • jj15 June 15, 2020
Congrats to @ESmith on passing the 13.1 mark on day one!! We will reach out to you via email with more info on your L.L.Bean gift card.
      👏 congrats!
    • TParker June 15, 2020
Favorite JA memory - a friend from 20yrs ago calls to say his kid is in my JA class, and his son actually thinks it’s so cool that we come to his class to talk about things you can do right here in Maine. It’s no remote controlled commode 😂 but I loved it & wont forget it.
Wow what a small world! Glad to hear kids think JA is cool 😎
    • CRoy June 15, 2020
Let’s celebrate the end of day #1. What’s your favorite JA memory? I have to say my top memory is when my students created an entrepreneur project about a remote controlled commode!
What a great business idea! 😆 thank you for sharing!

To keep everyone on the same page, we've come up with some handy guidelines:
    1. We rely on the honor system... you don't have to use a device to prove your miles -- a good map suffices.
    2. Only exercising miles please! (NOTE: miles on a racer's personal log are for all races they are in, across all sports)
    3. Please attribute your activity to the appropriate day -- don't combine workouts from multiple days.
    4. Please only backdate logs for a race up to two weeks in the past.
    5. Activities submitted after the race ends will not count toward race leaderboards.
